Cajal Academy is a small, non-profit school and research organization with a big mission to empower kids by putting what neuroscientists know today about how kids learn, socialize and grow to work in the classroom!
As such, it might take us a few days to respond, especially during times of high admissions volume, so please bear with us and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
In the meantime, here are some “next steps” you can take to learn more about our program and the organization behind it, and to continue moving forward.

Start your online application
Our application doesn’t require any student essays, and there’s no need to alert your current school. Here’s what’s required to complete the application:
Complete our parent questionnaire
Upload any evaluations, assessments, and IEP/504 plan (if any) at the end of our form
$125 application fee to partially defray the costs of our clinical review
If it seems like your child might be a good fit for our program after an initial review, we will invite your child for a day on site with us, so they get to experience Cajal for themselves before making any commitments.

We will share everything you could want to know about our program at our Information Session and will stick around until ALL your questions have been answered, but we understand that sometimes a family needs to make decisions before the next event, or has specific questions about their child’s needs. Our approach to understanding and empowering kids is different enough that we ask all parents considering enrollment at Cajal Academy to attend an Information Session. In these events, our co-founder and Head of School will provide an overview of the neuroscience driving common aspects of gifted and twice exceptional kids’ experiences, and how we use those insights to ‘rewire’ and reduce children’s challenges while developing the executive function, social and self-care skills that gifted children need to thrive. Want your child to have the chance to experience Cajal Academy’s program before deciding whether to apply?
Register your child to spend the afternoon at Cajal Academy! Every week this spring, we are opening our program up to gifted and twice exceptional kids in our community who are seeking enrichment or just want to learn more about our school. Each Wednesday we do a different project-based learning activity: a microcosm of what our kids experience for the academic school year. A brief application is required; $175 per workshop.
