Fees and Tuition:
Cajal Academy Summer Tuition: $5,500
Zebra Camp Program Fee (including occupational and physical therapy sessions): $1,400
10% discount for students enrolled for the 2026-27 school year by June 29, 2026

Our Summer Zebras Camp gives kids with EDS the chance to learn, socialize and grow with other kids, while strategies they can use to self-monitor, self-manage and self-advocate for their needs!
Like our school year programming, our Summer Zebras program is set up like a “camp within a camp,” giving our Zebras the chance to get to know a broader range of kids. Direct therapies, coaching and peer collaboration are all integrated together into community-wide project-based learning, so kids learn the skills and strategies they need within the real world school context in which they need to apply them, increasing the speed with which they generalize them.
Here are some of the ways we tailor our summer program for EDS kids:
Learn strategies for how to self-monitor, self-manage & self-advocate for your EDS needs!
From learning how connective tissue differences influence our body experiences to developing the proprioception kids need to predict & manage symptoms or choose strategies to reverse them, we work with our Zebra campers to build the foundations for independently meeting their needs in a range of settings!
Make new friends, in a community that “gets it”!
Whether for the summer or the school year, our “Zebras” have the chance to make friends with other kids who are learning to make sure EDS (or other chronic medical conditions) don’t get to define who they are. At the same time, being part of a broader community of kids gives our Zebras the opportunity to develop the vocabulary and confidence they need to advocate for their needs with kids who don’t have that same experience: essential independence skills!
Get the therapies you need to minimize your symptoms while maximizing your growth!
We’ve brought together an expert team of licensed therapists who are experienced in the treatment protocols and safety precautions that are essential for EDS kids, provided by licensed therapists who are experienced in meeting this cohort’s unique needs and required safety precautions. Our Zebra Camp program includes the following therapy sessions:
- manual physical therapy sessions realigning spines and joints to reduce pain and fatigue and improve autonomic function;
- physical therapy sessions increasing core strength and working towards stabilizing hypermobile joints;
- occupational therapy sessions increasing enteroception and the proprioception required to maintain safe body positioning;
- counseling sessions with our psychologist available for an additional fee
Develop executive function & peer collaboration skills, while solving a real world problem
All our students work together to answer a ‘driving question’ over the course of the camp that requires you to master and then apply reading, math, science and social studies curriculum together. This teaches kids an engineering-based design process that fosters essential executive function skills that our naturally innovative thinkers need to turn their unique ways of seeing the world into reality.
