Faith

Faith joins Cajal Academy with nearly a decade of experience living in Singapore, where she gained invaluable experience developing a comprehensive English language program for international students. She worked with a diverse range of students, from elementary through university levels, designing and teaching courses in foundational English, literature studies, public speaking, and college composition. Her experience working with students of varying ages and abilities deepened her commitment to crafting meaningful, individualized educational experiences.

Faith’s academic passions include creative writing, modernist fiction, and postcolonial literature. She has presented her insights on postcolonial analysis at the Savannah British Commonwealth Postcolonial Conference and continues to evolve as both a writer and a lifelong learner. For Faith, literature is a powerful vehicle for self-discovery, offering students a profound understanding of themselves and the broader human experience. She prioritizes critical thinking and independent thought, aiming to help students engage deeply with texts and develop their unique voices.

As a mother of three young children in a neurodiverse household, Faith is acutely aware of the challenges faced by students and families whose perspectives differ from the majority. She also recognizes the unique strengths and potential inherent in neurodiversity. Faith fully embraces Cajal Academy’s philosophy, which mirrors her own belief that every student has the ability to thrive in an environment that values and nurtures their individuality. She is passionate about contributing to the transformative educational experience Cajal offers to all its students.

Faith holds a Bachelor’s degree in English, graduating cum laude from Georgia Southern University. She knows the importance of a holistic approach to education and has also completed graduate courses in counseling from Australia’s Monash University. Faith believes that academic and personal growth are interwoven and must be nurtured together to help students flourish in the classroom and beyond.

Outside of her professional role, Faith is an alumni of the National Outdoor Leadership School and enjoys exploring the scenic trails of New England in her free time. A voracious reader, she devours books from a wide variety of genres, constantly seeking to expand her understanding of the world. Her love for travel and adventure fuels her desire to experience and learn from diverse cultures and perspectives. Above all, Faith treasures her role as a mother and enjoys spending quality time with her family. With her warmth, compassion, and unwavering belief in her students' potential, Faith is dedicated to helping each student at Cajal Academy discover and cultivate their own unique abilities.
